Conan messed up in this episode. He brought up "Shinichi-niichan" All Rum would have to do is ask when Conan first "met" shinichi and he would know that it would have been impossible for him to if he had died when they thought he did.
that's true, that made me wondering, it's not impossible for rum not to know that shinichi and conan are the same persone.
Apparently Conan is always messed up when Wakita is in the episode. I remember the first episode Wakita appeared i was surprised to see Conan, regardless of being suspicious about Wakita still ended up putting Kogoro into sleep like usual, which he always avoided before in such situations.
He could probably talk his way out of this one (they're supposed to be related after all), but yeah, Conan is being wayyyyy too imprudent around all of those rum suspects...
He's shown himself to be incredibly confident against the Black Org, to the point of being overly confident against them.
It's not like he doesn't outsmart them, but I side a little bit with Haibara on this one. He needs to be more careful because making mistakes like that means he gets himself and everyone he know killed.
But I suppose that's part of his childish nature. He loves solving mysteries and crime. Perhaps standing up to the Black Org is not only his personal vendetta, but something that gives him the most "thrill".
Though certainly that's not how he saw it in the beginning, but it may be how he's feeling now given the extensive experience he's had with them.
And now that I've brought up that "thrill" part, I feel like rewatching the early episodes of the Black Org. When Haibara first showed up and it was just him and Haibara involved in the Black Org stuff.
Yeah you're right - the fight against the BO went well so many times he's not paying attention anymore, except when something happens to make him aware BO is definitely present - and even then he occasionally slips up. But I don't think it's on-purpose thrill seeking at all. Maybe normal situations just pale in comparison to the high-risk BO encounters to such an extent that a probably-Vermouth strolling in is just another Tuesday?
On the Rum stuff though, here's some things that I need to sort out that I can't really remember:
1: Does Rum even know who Shinichi is? It's a given that Gin, Vodka, Bourbon, and Vermouth know, but what if the other operatives, such as Chianti?
As far as I know, the only people who actually care about Shinichi's death in the first place are Vermouth and Bourbon, to be exact, Bourbon. Vermouth knows, and tries to cover it up/be dismissive. I believe Gin and Vodka are also dismissive of the situation.
2: I don't think that Rum actually has any suspicions that Shinichi might be alive. His reasoning for getting close to Kogoro was because the whole time the Black Org believes that Kogoro might be the threat to the Black Org, and not the little kid next to him. For a little kid to say some other person's name wouldn't exactly set him off, if my reasoning for the previous thing follows.
So if the logic flows, even if Rum is incredibly astute, he wouldn't know who Shinichi is in the first place, and wouldn't have a reason to figure out who he is.
And my logic is based off the fact I remember Bourbon talking to Gin about some stuff but overall Gin is dismissive of not only Rum's past mistakes but also people he's killed, including Shinichi. And Bourbon in the first place we know is a double agent, and there's a reason why he's looking into Shinichi's death - the reason being he knows Conan has ties with Shinichi and is incredibly sharp. In fact, he basically already knows I can't remember where but I remember him basically confirming the fact he knows Conan is Shinichi (Or shit, was that Akai that said that?)
Whatever the case, the logic may not be as flawed as it might seem. The Black Org kills people on a daily. For some random high school kid that Gin killed a while back that had nothing to do with Rum, I don't see why Rum would know who that kid is.
Nothing has been brought up about Shinichi either, and recall that the only person who seems to know of the drug's shrinking effects is Haibara. The only person who found out about Conan are the ones not really faithful for the org and have extra info.
So... yes?
That being said, it's clear that Rum is not really sensing something off. He's shown himself to be on the same level as Conan in deduction skills, and in flashbacks to be incredibly skilled at disguises like Vermouth. One hell of a scary man.
All that Coding effort by Mori...in Vain as his message deciphered...
I only wonder how smelly the toilet must be for now after all that time Kogoro was waiting there for paper xD
he flushed at first
you know? I have to applaud Aoyama-sensei for coming up with these puzzles in the cases. in fact, the manga is more exciting than ever, although some montages are illogical and resort too much to the ingenuity of the viewers and people inside the case.
On the other hand, I feel that the quality of the anime has fallen enormously (and it's something I've been watching for years, don't think I'm blind), until before the fillers had real quality both plot and drawing, and I think it would be better that they trace the vignettes of the manga instead of reinventing the plans, because I think that what they do is lower the quality.
Don't get excited about the manga either, because even though I've said what I've said, the manga also lowers the quality of the random cases, they only hit the subtle clues at the beginning and end of the case. and I must say that Aoyama is making Conan too naive from the beginning of the Rum saga, too little cautious, because before he kept up appearances, and Ai made him see it (remember the case of the interview with the DB), but now nor does he bother to hide knowing that someone like Rum is nearby.
That's why I say that something very bad will happen soon and the manga already gives evidence and indications of that.
Some of the filler episodes have been a mixed bag sometimes in fact 2006 was probably the worst for detective Conan ,I recently started experiencing this franchise
Kir's saga is a saga of transition between movements of the organization and the Conan team, so in essence it is different.
14:23 Conan playing mahjong in Kogoro's lap, what an adorable sight.
Spoilers ahead ! Be safe
he is goodlooking ice king
Poor Kogoro, Conan figured out his entire problem and still told Yoko *and* didn't get him paper XD
omg rum
getting fidgety since
Man Japan is so obsessed with puzzles, literally like many cases its either codes or puzzles.
Just found a plot hole in this episode.
Why would the victim ( nukiyasu) bothered sending a code to his brother rather than just calling him?
It was explained in the episode that if they call their brother the murderer might kill the brother too(victims brother) if they knew. But after finding the motive of the murderer(himi) , I don't think she would kill her husband just for covering up because in the first place she murdered only because the victim killed her best friend. Was her dead best friend more than her living husband?
So any sane person in nukiyasu's situation would just call his brother without too much worrying about his brother's life rather than his own life.
And also if he switched off his phone,he could have just switch on again and call someone if he thinks he is dying.
Shinichi is a real piece if sh!t, he knew Kogoro wanted it to be a secret but decided to embarrass him anyway. And then you have Ran who also figured it out but still felt the need to say it out loud…
And then raising the alarm for BO, and not just any member but
It's nice to think that Mouri pretty much adopted Conan. Although I wonder how he'll feel when the truth comes out and Mouri discovered that it was actually Shinichi on his lap lol
Decent case but it probably would've been solved quicker if they went to the scene. I guess he barricaded the trapdoor but he could've left it open since she can't climb the stairs without being vulnerable. Only way out for him was to kill her tbh.
Yea Yoko is quite the cutie so don't exactly blame Kogoro.
Though is he really that shy of a guy?
On the topic of cuties, so is Azusa from the cafe. Her look has changed quite a bit from when she first showed up... I think.
I think he was embarrassed.
do Japanese people use toilet paper in bathroom? I thought that they use bidet xD
Its an older run down detective agency and he's stingy with money. I'm sure he didn't want to pay for one.
to those who read the manga, did conan knew who rum was or not?
Do you know what people who don't read the manga think then they read comments like this? The shogi piece comment is implicatory enough now, but come on!
he has suspicions, but doesn't know for sure iirc
omggggggg!
Look forward to checking it out
